I personally really enjoyed this movie. I didn't feel it was a ripoff of as much as it was an homage to the British spy series of films. Vin Diesel was quite effective as Xander Cage, an extreme sports enthusiast turned secret agent bolstering a bad attitude and short temper. As an actor, Diesel really carries this role well fitting into his element perfectly. Covered with tattoos, he is known for his most notable one across the back of his nect, that of 3 X's prompting his name of Triple X. There are some fantastic stunts in this movie from a motorbike making incredible jumps the most exciting of which was from an exploding building's rooftop , to a surfboarding move using a serving tray down some stair handrails, to an incredible snowboarding scene with an impending avalanche bearing down on him. Yes, it is no secret that they were hoping for and intending a new super spy series of films with this, but aside form all of the James Bond comparisons, I really felt it stood on its own and was a very good movie. My only gripe was, what was with that shaggy rug coat he was wearing? This movie also features one of the most "electrifying" night clubs I have ever seen.
